This week the entire team sat down and worked on the List View interface. Based off of the feedback we received, we found that the Folder View isn't the only way that people want to be able to get a quick overview of the status of all devices. When looking for a quick overview, we found that some users don't want to have to look at each folder to find out if there's any devices with an error or warning status. Users also wanted a way to be able to sort through different types of information for the devices, which the Folder View isn't able to do. Thus, the List View has been created to solve these two problems: to be able to take a quick glance and recognize which devices are problematic, and to allow the user to sort through all devices.
The four of us sat down and discussed what the list view should be composed of. We made a few rough sketches of what we thought it should look like. We debated about what information should be shown and decided that we should allow them to sort by status, name, location, temperature, and humidity. After this was completed, After our meeting, Eric and I worked on developing the list view.
Completing this deliverable advances our project because now both ways of getting a quick overview of the devices are implemented. The main features of the monitoring system has been completed, and now we are going to focus on polishing and making small improvements next. Take a look at the screenshot of the implementation of the list view below.
